PREVIEW MEISTERSTRASSE in KYOTO EXHIBITION AT MACHIYA HAUS
Do, 24. April
MACHIYA HAUS
MEISTERSTRASSE HANDMADE presents a curated selection of Austrian and Japanese handicraft products in MACHIYA House, one of Kyoto's most extraordinary listed private houses.

Half built and furnished in the authentic European architectural style of the early 20th century, half as a traditional Japanese home, it is still owned by the Nishikawa family, who have been producing traditional Japanese porcelain since 1917 and today also contemporary ceramics.

On display will be a best-of of Austrian and Japanese craftsmanship: from ceramic/porcelain objects and silver cutlery to mouth-blown glass and chandeliers, award-winning interior design, textiles, fragrances, jewelry creations that reflect the cultures of both countries and culinary specialties:

Every hour, a renowned tea and ikebana master invites our guests to a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and the lady of the house guides you on a tour through the typical Japanese garden.
Master craftsmen and manufactory owners from Austria and Japan are present.
