For over a thousand years, Kyoto has been a centre of Japanese craftsmanship and aesthetics. As Japan’s ancient capital, it is a city where tradition is not simply preserved, but remains a living part of contemporary culture. Skills and techniques passed down through generations continue to evolve, finding new expression in design, interiors, fashion and art.
Kyoto – Millennium Capital of Living Crafts brings this remarkable heritage to Vienna, presenting six selected workshops, manufacturers and artists from Kyoto and their contemporary interpretations of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
