‘T-Style: Thai Spirit,’ a campaign that offers design solutions from local Thai brands and DEmark winners unveiled on Meisterstrasse.com
The COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly changing consumer behavior toward online channels. It is essential that nations have to find their own ways to adapt and survive. The outbreak has accelerated what we have forecasted and expected for so long: a shift to digital.
As a major mission to promote country brand on a global stage, the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, has unveiled ‘T-Style: Thai Spirit’, a curated collection of 38 local Thai brands on Meisterstrasse.com, the world largest portal site of mastery products to raise awareness of the excellence of Thai craft and design in the global arena.
Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of commerce, said “In every crisis, there is an opportunity. Promoting an online presence for Thailand's counry brand is what we have been concerned about for a while. As part of this mission, we finely selected brands that showcase the agility of Thai manufacturers and designers, something that the world is looking for at the moment. We have high quality manufacturers and creative designers, and with these people we can create and develop products that match the changing needs of consumers in these uncertain times. We also have a group of designers who can transfer the Thai spirit to authentic products with unique characters. The special character of “The spirit of Thai Design” combines high quality manufacturing, design flexibility and human touch together. With these unique value propositions, products that are designed and manufactured in Thailand will have a future in global markets.
‘T-Style: Thai Spirit’ has curated a collection of Thailand’s leading manufacturers and designers that have a potential to grow further in the global market. Some products were made by local craftsmen and artisans from small provinces in Thailand which received global recognition award. The collection is empowered by a list of winners of the Design Excellence Award (DEmark), one of Asia’s most prestigious design awards known as ‘the Oscars of the Thai design industry’’. The two collections share one common goal, which is to promote Thai design in the global market through publications in Thai and international media and exhibitions in world-class showcases.”
The Ministry of Commerce hopes that the launch in a global platform like Meisterstrasse.com will make the world see the movement of Thai craft and design business in a new light. When the Thai Spirit, technical craft skills and creativity of Thai designers and craftsmen are matched with high quality and world-class manufacturing standards, the results are the extraordinary Thai creations that can be in the same league as the world’s design leaders.
